GFPS STEERS A MODERN DANCE COMPETITION IN CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH 2023; CONDUCTS A SEMINAR ON R.A. 9262

To finally conclude this year’s National Women’s Month, the GAD Focal Point System, led by Executive Chairperson Hon. Freddie D. Domingo, steered a Modern Dance Competition amongst women on March 30, 2023, at the COC Multi-Purpose Arena.

Before that, a seminar on R.A. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children, was provided wherein PCMS Aileen M. Feliciano served as the Resource Speaker and briefly discussed salient points of the said law.

Seven (7) women groups from different CSOs healthily competed in the said activity, which includes the Pura Market Vendors, 4Ps, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, VAW-C Desk Officers, Child Development Workers, Persons with Disabilities, and Solo Parents. Each group showcased their talents and channeled their confidence. Lattermost, Pura Market Vendors Group was hailed as the Champion, while VAW-C Desk Officers and Child Development Workers placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

In his message, VM Balmores congratulated and thanked everyone for their time and effort in making the celebration of Women’s Month a worthwhile activity. He also mentioned that we must continuously respect and engage women and everyone to push for gender-responsive government programs and services that empower women to contribute to nation-building.
