LECTURE ON EXPANDED SOLO PARENTS WELFARE ACT

The LGU of Pura, headed by Mayor Freddie D. Domingo, organized a lecture series on Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act on April 17, 2023, at the Pura Event Center.
Atty. Rochelle M. Del Monte, an associate at SAVAMA Legal Firm and Lecturer at TSU School of Law, served as the resource speaker. She briefly discussed the salient provisions of the expanded solo parents welfare act. RA 11861, which amended RA 8972 or the Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000, promotes the rights of Filipino solo parents and ensures that they can receive adequate social protection programs from the government.
Afterward, questions from the participants were answered by Atty. Del Monte, together with other subject matter experts composed of Atty. Mariemeir Marcos-Rivera, Atty. Mykedox Cuchapin and Atty. Karen Cayetano-Tinoyan.
The said activity was attended by ninety-three (93) solo parents in the municipality, Vice Mayor John Paul M. Balmores, and SB members.
