LGU OF PURA AWARDS CERTIFICATES OF ACCREDITATION TO CSOs

The Office of the Sangguniang Bayan, headed by Municipal Vice Mayor Atty. John Paul M. Balmores graced the awarding and recognition of the forty-four (44) Accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSO) of the Municipality of Pura, Tarlac. The accredited organizations were certified by higher government agencies, as they complied with the requirements to give them a special seat in the Sangguniang Bayan. The said special seat gives them the authority to express their constructive opinions orderly and extend their function as leaders of their respective sectors.

The recognition of civil society organizations is mandated by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through its Memo Circular 2019-72, which aims to “promote the establishment and the operation of people’s organizations, non-governmental organizations, and the public sector, to make them active partners in the pursuit of local autonomy.”
