To give thanks to our farmers’ hard work and dedication, the Local Government Unit of Pura, led by our Municipal Mayor Freddie D. Domingo, celebrates the Pura Farmer’s Day on March 18, 2022, at the Pura Activity Center.
Attended by almost 2,000 farmers, the LGU of Pura held a thanksgiving mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Jun Paragas. Farmer’s Day also aims to give tribute and recognition to the outstanding contributions of the different Farmers’ Cooperatives by giving them Certificates of Appreciation to the development of the local agriculture sector in the Municipality of Pura.
In his welcome address, Mayor Domingo expressed his endless thanks to our hardworking farmers. He reminded them that this valuable day is dedicated to their relentless efforts and support of our town. He also affirmed that the LGU will continuously support the programs and projects of agriculture.
Moreover, the LGU of Pura was honored to celebrate Farmer’s Day with Congressman Jaime Cojuangco, who personally joined us today. He wholeheartedly commended the tremendous hard work of our local farmers despite the ongoing pandemic. Also, he gave prominence to the farmers’ role in the community in providing food.
Likewise, in his message, Vice Governor Carlito David genuinely recognized the efforts of the local farmers. He highlighted the vital contributions of our local farmers to the lives of each individual.
Also, Municipal Vice Mayor Concepcion Zarate and Sangguniang Bayan Members gracefully enjoined the said activity, wherein our representatives from the KanLahi festival were given certificates of appreciation for their valuable participation.
Indeed, this day offers much-deserved praise to the hardworking farmers in our locality. We must recognize the contributions and successes of small farmers who have been the backbone of the hunger-free Philippines campaign.
Again, thank you to all the people behind this worthwhile celebration.
