Swine Repopulation Project in the Municipality of Pura

The National Livestock Program, which is administered by the Department of Agriculture, is implementing the Swine Repopulation Project in the Municipality of Pura, as one of their recipients.
The mentioned project aims to revive our backyard swine industry following the outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) and the depopulation of hogs in 2019 to 2020.
Initially, environmental swabbing and water sampling were carried out in our Municipality, thanks to the efforts of our Municipal Mayor Freddie Domingo and Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Ma’am Adoracion Dayag, with the assistance of the Tarlac Provincial Veterinary Office.
Prior to the distribution of animals, a seminar on swine management and biosecurity measures was held for the twenty (20) recipients on October 25, 2021.
Also, present during the activity were Dr. Jeneveve Suliva from the Provincial Veterinarian Office, as was Mr. Edwin Estabillo, distributor of CP feeds from RAINA Farm Supply, as well as Dr. Jericho Gonzales and Dr. Julius Perigrino from CPF (Charoen Pokphand Foods Phils. Corp.), who served as resource speakers.
