TB Mass Screening | TB Signing of Pledge of Commitment

The Rural Health Unit of Pura, together with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), effectively initiated a TB Mass Screening (Free Chest X-Ray) on July 28, 2021, a step to a much bigger goal. In finding undetected active cases of Tuberculosis, mass screening is being initiated in the LGU to effectively prevent and control its spread, reduce and if not, eliminate the dreaded disease. It is, therefore, a paramount practice and a proactive action to achieve a safe and healthy environment.

Likewise, Mayor Freddie Domingo, together with SB Officials of Pura, Dr. Roedel Dizon, Barangay Chairpersons of Pura led by LnB President Edilberto Tabaquin Jr., Department Heads, and RHU Personnel steered the TB Signing of Pledge of Commitment. This is a part of the LGU’s commitment to fighting and eliminating TB in the Municipality and in meeting the Department of Health’s vision to be a TB-Free Philippines. This is the core of DOH’s “Race to End TB”, an intensive campaign against the dreadful disease, in partnership with the World Health Organization and USAID.
