THE LGU OF PURA HOLDS A SEMINAR REGARDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN (VAW-C) AND THE “BAWAL BASTOS” LAW

The GAD Focal Point System, headed by Mayor Freddie D. Domingo and Municipal Vice Mayor John Paul M. Balmores, conducted a seminar on R.A. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children and R.A. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act on September 30, 2022, at the Pura Event Center. It is in line with the priorities of their administration to strengthen and intensify the awareness of the locality regarding these forms of gender-based violence (GBV).
In his message, Atty. Balmores recapitulated the importance of knowing how to prevent and address different forms of GBV. He also mentioned society’s crucial role in increasing awareness and acknowledge that violence is never justified and supporting survivors of this violence in safe ways.
Moreover, the LGU of Pura was honored to have Atty. Jayson N. Costina and Atty. Septfonette Fe D. Balusdan, who served as Resource Speakers.
Mr. Joe Myrence T. Mendoza – GAD Focal Person, Ms. Analiza A. Campo – Municipal VAW-C Desk Officer, and PMSg Carolyn T. Camarillo – PNP PURA WCPD, initiated the said GAD activity.
