WALK to End Violence against Women and Children

The LGU, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS), initiated the first ever WALK to End VAW (Violence Against Women and Children) on December 12, 2017 around Pob.1,2 and 3 in celebration of the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) 18-day campaign to end VAW.

Barangay VAWC desk officers, Municipal officials and employees from the different offices and Ms. Liza Ferrer from the Provincial Health Office graced the day-long activity facilitated by the LGU GAD Focal Person. Dr. Roedel Dizon served as the Resource Person who spontaneously discussed RA 9262 and some points on AIDS since it was also the World’s Aids Day Celebration. A Zumba exercise headed by Alma Tabago concluded the activity at the Public Auditorium.
